More and more people are on the move on our roads, among them is a steadily growing number of cyclists. That’s why it’s important to promote mutual respect and understanding for each other – whether on two or four wheels. With “Share The Road”, Ford has launched a campaign aimed at improving the safety of all road users, reducing the volume of traffic and reducing environmental pollution. The campaign is part of the “Ford Vorfahrt für deine Zukunft” safety training program and has been included as a Smart City Gold project by the City of Cologne. Allegium supports the roll-out of share the road activities in Germany.
The Cologne Fuel Saving Championship is a participatory campaign on sustainable mobility sponsored by KlimaKreis Köln. Free education and training programs for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), vocational colleges, educational and cultural institutions, non-profit organizations and interested Cologne residents provide concrete and everyday suggestions for a more climate-friendly, energy-efficient and safer mobility culture. As a lighthouse project, the Cologne Fuel Efficiency Championship is designed to be self-reinforcing and to be sustained and expanded.
The aim of this recently established joint project between DVR and Allegium is to develop an overall strategy for sustainable smart mobility, including training, seminars and other safety-promoting offers, and to roll out concrete measures as part of an umbrella campaign. The aim is to take into account as many influencing factors as possible that are necessary for the successful implementation of measures for safe mobility in companies, but also in general road traffic. Telematics will also play an important role in systematic road safety work in the future. This applies both to the use and development of special tools for increasing road safety and to the evaluation of the efficiency of individual measures. The strategic significance and initial application scenarios are to be initiated as part of the joint project.
The Ford initiative “Ford Vorfahrt für deine Zukunft” supports young drivers in their learning process towards safer driving. In practical driving safety modules, you learn how to behave in critical traffic situations and how to reach your destination safely.
Allegium is proud partner for the training implementation in Germany. In 2018 the German training version have been awarded the DVR quality seal for road safety training (passenger cars).
The Smart Mobility Challenge is a European student competition also held at English and Spanish universities. The project is carried out with the support of the Ford Foundation “Ford Motor Company Fund”. In Germany the TH-Cologne is the only partner university to implement the initiative proudly supported by Allegium.
