Successfull pilot of the new Ford road-safety event “Safety in Mobility”<\/h3>\n

Cologne, Sept. 2024<\/p>\n

The Ford Philanthropy sponsored training program “Safety in Mobility” successfully started in Germany. Focussing on vulnarable roadusers such as cyclists, e-scooters and pedestrians, the new program addresses special needs in sustainable mobility in continues the tradition of Driving Skills for Life. Another important topic is Cannabis and the risk increasing factors and influences in traffic.\u00a0 The training is designed for young adults aged 16-24. This year SiM was successfully kicked-off in Koblenz with the strong support of the Jugendfeuerwehr in Rheinland-Pfalz and at Castrop-Rauxel where the event was hosted at the Berufskolleg Castrop-Rauxel (BKCR). In total over 200 people were trained during the 4 event days.<\/p>\n

Ford Philanthropy Smart Mobility Accelerator<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Madrid,\u00a0 September 20th 2024 \u2013 In its second year, the Ford Philantropy Smart Mobility Accelerator took place in Madrid. Nine project ideas from the four participating univerities in Spain, UK and Germany pitched their ideas. We congratulate team BReaking Barriers from the TH-Cologne to a fantastic second place and addittional 10.000 EUR funding for their idea.<\/span><\/p>\n

Final Event “Project Week – Electromobility @BBZ Grevenbroich”<\/h3>\n

The Ford Fund sponsored “Project Weeks on Electromibility” @ BBZ Grevenbroich \u00a0have been successfully completed. And with a significant achievement: after passing the final test, the students received their certificates as “Qualified persons for high-voltage vehicle technology” in accordance with statutory accident insurance regulations. The donation of the Ford Fund helped to create state of the art teaching materials to convey basic knowledge on EV-mobility and high voltage training as well as the certification of teachers as experts meaning that knowledge and skills in dealing with high-voltage systems can be passed on to students, taking into account the legal requirements of accident insurance not only for th participanting pupils within the project weeks. Thus the donation for the project weaks also helped levaraging synergies.<\/p>\n

Smart Mobility Challenge 2023\/24\u00a0<\/h3>\n

Cologne,\u00a0 January 30th 2024 \u2013The Ford Fund Smart Mobility Challenge, a cooperation between the Ford Foundation “Ford Fund” and the Cologne University of Applied Sciences, is celebrating its 5th anniversary this year. In an extremely close final, the “Breaking Barriers” student project came out on top against strong competitors +Bag and Mein4tel.<\/span><\/p>\n

Berlin, December 13th 2023<\/strong> \u2013 After nearly 12 years cooperation Allegium became a new member of the German Road Safety Council (DVR e.V.). During the General Meeting on December 13th Allegiums CEO Tarek Nazzal was also elected in the DVR Board Committee for Young Drivers.<\/p>\n

The members of the Young Drivers Committee develop positions aimed at improving the road safety of young drivers. They primarily concern practical and theoretical driver training and further training and the framework conditions for young people’s participation in road traffic.<\/p>\n
